Dangers of an Armed Citizenry ~~ (Dangerous for criminals)
The incessant ringing of
her doorbell woke a woman from her sleep. She looked through the front
door peephole and saw someones in a hooded sweatshirt outside continuing
to ring the bell. Police say the woman ran to the bedrooms, got her handgun
and dialed 9-1-1. As she returned to the front door, a second hooded suspect
emerged, sprinted to the front door and kicked it in. His foot busted a hole
in the door , knocking the woman down. She looked through the hole and saw
the suspect preparing to run and kick the door again, so she stuck the barrel
of the gun out of the hole and fired two shots. The suspects fled the scene
and are being sought by the police. KNXY-TV Phoenix, AZ, 02/11/10
Some twisted individual broke into a rural home,
tied up a woman and her mother and sexually assaulted the younger woman,
according to police. The older woman managed to send a cell phone text message
to her neighbor. The neighbor's boy friend, Sonny Osborne, ran to the scene,
saw what was occurring and ran to get his gun. He returned and shot the
attacker three times. The suspect was treated at a hospital and was taken
to jail. Incredibly, the police and the attacker agree Osborn did the right
thing. "[The suspect] even looked at Sonny and said, "I have no hard feelings,
man, you done what you were supposed to do", said Sheriff's Department Sgt.
Bill Snead. "He said , You just protected these people."WTHR

Richard Evans didn't feel
safe in his own home the day after four teens broke into the house and stole
guns and electronics. Unfortunately for all concerned, the teens returned.
Police believe they were intent on stealing Evans' four-wheel drive vehicle,
for which they had stolen the keys in the prior burglary. The teens wore
masks and climbed Evans' fence. He shouted at them to get off his property,
but they did not comply. Fearing the teens were carrying guns, Evans grabbed
his shotgun and opened fire. All four teens were wounded and taken to the
hospital. Police plan to charge them with armed burglary and grand theft.

Adriana Sauceda was touching
up her makeup before work when she glanced in her car’s side-view
mirror and caught a man staring at her. As the man approached, she scrambled
to lock the doors and raise the windows. But it was too late. Police say
the man opened the driver’s side door and pointed a gun at Saucenda, shouting,
“Get the [expletive] out” Instead, Sauceda punched him in the face and drew
her gun from the glove box. The would-be carjacker screamed and fled to
a getaway car. Sauceda had purchased a firearm and obtained a concealed carry
permit after she was robbed previously. St Petersburg Times, St. Petersburg,

Ten college students were enjoying a birthday party at an off-campus
apartment when two armed men burst through the door. Police say the intruders
separated the men from the women and demanded their cell phones and money.
That’s when one of the male students took action, drawing his gun from
a backpack and shooting at the suspect guarding the men. That suspect fled
the apartment. The student then hurried to the women, where he found the
second suspect about to commit a rape. He yelled for the girls to get
down and fired several shots at the suspect, who jumped out the window
and died nearby. “Apparently, his intent was to rape and murder us all”,
said student Charles Baily. “I think all of are really cognizant of the
fact that we could have all been killed.” WSB-TV, Atlanta, GA, 05/04/09
Four accused shoplifters were fleeing a grocery store when a shopper
got in their way. Police say they’d stolen groceries worth less than $50,
but were apparently willing to kill for it. The driver pointed the thieves
truck directly at the shopper and floored the gas pedal. Fortunately, the
shopper, who had a concealed carry permit, drew a handgun, shot out the
trucks front tire and leapt from its oncoming path. Another shopper called
911 to alert police. The armed shopper followed the vehicle until the
flat tire disabled it. Thanks to his help, all four were arrested.

91 year old Robert Thompson and his Rottweiler mix, Rett were alarmed
when they saw a prowler on the back porch trying to get into their home.

ran inside to call 911 and get his gun. Upon his return, Rett released
the suspect, who tried to get up and charge Thompson. The suspect
changed his tune when the veteran fired a shot, narrowly missing him. "I

an unknown vehickle in his garage. He quickly retrieved his handgun and
shouted for anyone in the house to identify themselves. What happened
next is truly bizarre. According to police, a man came around the corner
wearing only Strickland's boxer shorts. Strickland told the intruder he
was going to call police and the "guy started ranting about him being the
owner of the house and how he was going to come down here and kick me out
of the house". The suspect made an aggressive move toward Strickland, who
