Wolves, Sheep and Sheep dogs

Animals are whatever they were born to be.  They have no choice.  Sheep are peaceful creatures who go with the crowd wherever they are directed.

Human beings, on the other hand, do have a choice.  There is no shame in being a sheep.  If you go along with the herd and accept orders of the herder, are incapable of harming or confronting another except by accident.  Then, you are a sheep.  But, you will always need a sheepdog or two to look after you and woe to you if you encounter a wolf when no sheepdog is around.

If you are a predator or a parasite and live off others whether violent or not, then you are a wolf.  But, the sheepdogs will hunt you down and you will never know peace and security.

If you are a predator advocate - you may call yourself a lawyer, a politician or an activist - - but you're still a predator.  And eventually, the sheepdogs will (hopefully) get you too.

If you are capable of violence but set yourself on the path of protecting the sheep, that is the path of the warrior, the hero , The sheepdog.  You may be a soldier, a cop, even a lawyer or a politician or just an ordinary citizen who carries a gun.  But, that may be a rocky path.

The sheep do not like the sheepdog.  He looks like the wolf and is a constant reminder there are wolves in the land.  They would prefer he didn't give them tickets or carry a gun.  They would prefer he just spray-paint himself white and go "baaa".  That is, until the wolf comes knocking at the door.  Then, they all try to hide behind the one lonely sheepdog.

So, which are you?  A sheep, a wolf or a sheepdog?  Or have you ever thought about it and decided?
