A wise man once said, "The only thing necessary for evil to prosper
is for good
men to to nothing" - - or something to that effect. In my
terminoligy, "If you refuse
to confront evil, it will come back and bite you in the butt"
During WWII, China was our most faithful ally. Chiang Kai Shek
fought the Japs
with one hand and the communists with the other. China persevered
against
both enemies with almost nothing in resources. It was a miracle
of survival.
But, once the war was over, the Japese defeated, many left-leaning
- communist
sypathizing Americans criticized Chiang as a dictator - as he certainly
was - how
else could you govern a country of 600 million people, 90% illiterate
with millions
of problems - at war for two decades and war still going on?
American com-symps persuaded president Harry Truman to cut off aid
to China
and he sent general George Marshal (as secy of state) to China to
tell Chiang he
was through. As a result, the communists took over and Chiang
and his army
fled to the island of Formosa (Now known as Taiwan ). Chiang
was replaced with
the kindly old "agrarian reformer" Mao who killed millions of chinese
--- for their
own good, of course.
In 1950, communist North Korea invaded South Korea and very nearly
took over
the whole country before US troops pushed them back, almost to the
border of
China. Then, the chinese came out of the woodwork and took
all of the North and
nearly all of the South, killing and capturing thousands of American
troops turning
over some of our prisoners to the soviets as slaves and pushing
our forces almost
into the sea. America got a second chance. Chiang offered
300,000 battle hardened
troops to help out in Korea if the US would transport them.
The communists
control of China at that point was shakey and later developments
proved that had
the Chinese army found themselves facing other chinese troops, many
would have
defected - - In fact, many did anyway.
Harry T. said, "No thanks", and once again, the US military fought
their way out
of a hole and recaptured the South. The US government
then played footsie with
the Chinese for some time and finally decided to end the war at
a draw. When the
North Koreans captured a US Navy vessel in international waters,
our gov't still
did not react with force.
The Chinese are now our most formidable enemy in the world
During the Clinton administration, the NKs let it be known they were
building a
nuclear bomb. Clinton sent kindly old social engineer, Jimmie
Carter to "bargain"
with the NKs. He offered nuclear reactors, food and other
goodies if they would
just agree to stop with the bomb. Predictably, they
accepted all the goodies, had
a good laugh and went back to building the bomb. It has now
been officially
determined that the explosion they recently set off was, indeed
a nuclear device.
Once again, we learn that when you fail to confront evil, it always
comes back to
bite you in the butt. Will we ever learn that lesson?
Some of us won't.
Certainly, Carter won't. During his administration, he cut
off all assistance to the
Shah of Iran (on the basis he was an evil dictator) The radical
Islamacists then
took over, took our embassy people hostage for 444 days. The
US military came
up with a plan to free them, but their budget had been so starved,
they found they
didn't have enough operable helicopters to fly them out. The
result was a great
humiliation of America and the death of many of our Iranian friends.
(Jimmy
exceeded his level of competence when he left the peanut farm)
The NKs now have a weapon to threaten all of Asia and even the US.
Will all those
who opposed spending on an anti-missle missle please step forward?
The Iranians
soon will have one and social engineer, Jimmy blames Israel for
all of it.
So
both rogue states, Iran and North Korea will shortly be using nuclear
technology
to threaten the rest of the world - - thanks to our American
obsession
with not confronting evil.
