Gleanings:

<<<<= Hello tribe - this could be you
In the spring of 1948, we had warm weather throughout the Pacific
Northwest and all of the Columbia tributaries went over their banks.
So,  the residents  of Woodland and some other  towns could swim
in their front yards and basements  Won't it be great for tribal and other
folks to do that when they get rid of all those nasty dams?  The Lower
Elwha tribe will probably have that privilege when the dams go out and
all that gunk comes down the river to block it during the rainy season
Photo by JMC - - - So, don't tell me it aint real

The Federal Government sure comes down on bureaucrats
who abuse their office to profit themselves, don't they???

Jane G. Selby of Tigard Oregon an employee of the Bonnevile Power Admin. (The folks that gin
up your electricity) was caught and charged by a grand  jury with the following:

Wire fraud, Conflict of Interest, Soliciting something of value in connection
with a federal program, False statements, Obstruction of a Proceeding,
and WITNESS  TAMPERING.  Each count carrying a maximum penalty
of five years in federal prison - except witness tampering which can get
            one TEN YEARS.

A Federal Judge in Portland (name unknown) really threw the book at her.  He sentenced her
to, (gasp), FOUR MONTHS in (gasp) THE YWCA.  (They probably don't even have room service)

Hard to believe, this poor troubled woman will have her liberty restricted by
spending four whole months, not in a federal lockup - - but, the downtown
Portland YWCA.  - - and, I bet they don't even have room service there.
But, never fear, she is going to appeal - - so probably will escape this awful
        punishment.  The YWCA!

What's wrong with Leavenworth?  No Hairdressers?

Sometimes the news is stranger than fiction.  Border guards, Campean
and Ramos got a total of 21 years solitary confinement in a federal
            slammer just for doing their job . . . . . . .. . . .  JMC

"The probability of life originating at random is so utterly miniscule as to make
it absurd"  . . . .  Francis Crick, who received the Nobel Prize for discovery of
DNA.  But then, what does he know compared with Darwin?

To me, DNA is final proof of the fallacy of Darwinism - but what do I know.
But, our kids are fed the line that evolution is "scientiific"   I always thought
science dealt with cause and effect and evidence - not any more   . . . . JMC

From Albert Shanker, then president of the American Federation of Teachers
(Now the NEA), "When school children start paying union dues, that's when
I'll start representing the interests of school children"l

That sentiment seems to be alive and well in the Washington State Teacher's
union (WEA) and their subsidiary, the Washington State Legislature, who just
    passed  bills

1- to rescue the WEA from their repeated violations of state law by using the
money extorted from non-union teachers, for political purposes (read that,
"donations to the Democratic Party"). . . . .   and  Washington governess,-
C Gregoire, who as attorney general initiated the lawsuit against  the WEA
that led to the case going to the US Supreme Court - just signed  the phony
bill the legislature passed.  So, she guarantees the Dems income (from extortion)

2- A bill to remove the 60% requirement on levies from the state constitution.
NOTE:  That will have to be voted by the public in Nov to change the constitution

3- To "postpone" the requirement for students to pass the WASL test in order to
graduate, for several more years.  After all, you don't need to know math or
science  to vote Democrat or apply for welfare.

Comment by Lynn Kessler in response to my E-Mail telling her how disappointed
I was in her for voting for (the bailout bill):  "I'm having buyers's remorse".  From
Kevin VdW: " I'm not 'owned' by the WEA, I voted against some of their bills".
From Jim  Hargrove, "I voted against it, but the majority passed it anyway".

Well, the "Governess" did not disappoint - - She signed the bill.  We get the
government we ask for and diserve   Rossi is running again next year, anybody
who cares about his/her state should support him. . . . .  JMC

"You can't make socialists out of individualists - children who know how to think for
themselves spoil the harmonoy of the collective society which is coming  where
everyone is interdependent"  ~  John Dewey, so called "father' of US  public education
    -  similar quotes from Lenin and Hitler.  No Edisons or Einsteins wanted.

No Future Thomas Edisons, Henry Fords or George Washingtons need apply
Statistics show that US fourth graders score above  those of similar age in
most other countries - but, by the time they get through ten years of our
wonderful public (read that, government monopoly) school system, they
score near the bottom beating only about three small, backward countries.

From the Marine Corps Times, April 23:
"A note scribbled on the wall in the Civil Affairs office in Ramadi, Iraq reads:
'America is not at war.  The Marine Corps is at war - America is at the mall.'
Another note added by someone:  'And congress is OUT TO LUNCH'"

how true, the guys over there putting their lives on the line, get it.  America
doesn't.  And our leaders are only interested in promoting their careers .
One wonders how WWII would have turned out if this bunch had been in
    charge.   . . . . JMC

"To capture the public imagination, we have to offer up scary scenarios,
make little mention of any doubts we might have.  Each of us has to decide
what the right balance is between being effective and being honest"
global warming scientist-activist (and former global cooling false prophet)
    Stephen Schneider.

One of my responders remonstrated with me that Schneider is " a
respected scientist" - - which, indeed he may be.  But, when  a "respected
scientist"  prefers "effectiveness" to "honesty", I have to say he is also
    a hustler.   Ant, I don't respect him    . . .  JMC

UN Big shots are having a conference on global warming - - but, not in
New York, city [Too Cold for them]   Instead they have all jetted off to Bali
filling the atmosphere with burnt jet fuel gasses from their private jets.
All to save us from "global warming"

And to figure out how to slap a tax on American Citizens, since they don't
find the huge payments of the US Gov't sufficient to fill their lust for money
And now that Sadam is dead, no more Oil For Food billions . . . . JMC
