Israel is a very tiny country the population is small
yet fills the country to the point it
is nearly bursting at the seams. So, why should
it attract so much attention in the
world? And, why does it exist anyway with so many
folks against it?
History
Maybe if we look at history and question
the various groups that have dealt with the
Jews in the past, we can get a clue:
Hezbollah
Since Israel was created by the UN in 1948, the
surrounding Arabs have repeatedly
launched attacks designed to Totally Obliterate
Israel (Kill every man woman and
child - both Arab and Jewish) Each time,
the Israelis have fought back and when it
became obvious they were
winning, the Arabs then apealled to the UN for a
"Cease Fire". A cease fire to give them
time to rebuild their weaponry so that they
can attack again. Now, they are
at it again. Some 13000 hi-tech Russian rockets
have been imported into South Lebanon by Hezbollah,
which they are systematically
firing at Israel. The world thinks that
is O.K. However, Israel is on the attack and as
soon as they seem to be about to defeat Hezbollah
and destroy all those missles,
the outcry will be deafening for another "Cease
Fire". If the terrorists would lay down
their arms, there would be peace in the Middle
East. If Israel lays down it's arms,
Israelis, both Arab and Jew, will be slaughtered.
The pharaohs
The nation we call Israel grew and
prospered under the Pharaohs for a time - then
they started persecuting them, made slaves of them
and finally Israel left Egypt. They
were a band of slaves with not much leadership and
certainly no weapons. But, a
strange thing happened. When the pharaoh sent
his army after them to bring them
back, he lost his army - - seems they couldn't swim.
Well, the pharaohs built huge
edifices to accommodate them in the afterlife, so
they must still be around?
What's that you say - - grave robbers got them?
Well, I guess we can't get any info
from the pharaohs
The Assyrians
The Assyrians conquered Israel and
took a lot of them captive as slaves. Let's ask
them.
What's that you say - - The Assyrians disappeared
and haven't been heard from in
about three milleniums? Well, I guess we can't
get any info from them
The Babylonians
The Babylonians conqured them - -
What's that, babylon is a ghost town now? Well,
no information there.
The Roman Emperors
The Romans conquered them - - They
had a little trouble with them on account of their
very stubborn refusal to recognize the Emperors
as Gods. Ah, but the Empire is gone,
even though those pesky Jews are still around.
The Russian Tsars
Now they were some pretty tough guys.
They persecuted the Jews until most of them
left the country - - many of them moving to America.
Oh, but some of their own people
wiped out the Tsars, men, women and children - -
so, we can't ask them.
The Nazis
They also were a pretty tough bunch.
Their philosophy was based on finally eliminating
those Jews from the face of the earth. So,
what can they tell us? Well, not much. It seems
they got smashed and pretty much eliminated - -
only a few old ones and some crazy young
Americans left.
The Arabs
They are much more numerous than the
Jews and possess great economic power on
account of their oil (otherwise they produce nothing
but hate). They hate the Jews with
a religious hatred and three times have tried
their best to eliminate the state of Israel
and it's citizens from the face of the earth.
Should have been a slam dunk, shouldn't it.
No, the Jews have kicked their butts each time..
See:
Well, can we ask any of the tribes of the Middle
East left who dealt with the Jews in early
times? Nope, seems like they have all disappeared
- - killed off or melded into other
civilizations. So, how come the Jews
haven't disappeared along with them?
With all these people "disappeared", there seems
to be only one source of information left
in modern times: The Bible - - so, we
will have to look in that.
In the book of Genesis, chapter 12, GOD speaks
to Abram (his name was later
changed to Abraham):
The Lord had said to
Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's
household and go to
the land I will show you (now known as Palestine)
"I will make you into
a great nation and I will bless you. I will make your name
great and you will
be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you and whoever
curses you I will
curse"
OOPS! Could this be it? The children of Abraham are GOD'S chosen
people. Those
(like the USA) that help (bless) his people, he in turn blesses - - but
those who curse
his people, he curses - - is that why Hitler failed along with Pharaoh
and the rest of
those unfortunates?? - - - - And could that have something to do with the
success
of a small bunch of colonials with little money, no army, no navy and not
much going
for them, beating the most (militarily) powerful country in the world at
the time? And
having continued success for over two centuries??
But then, we moderns don't believe is blessings and curses - - - or
do we? Well, if
anyone has a better anser, let's hear it.

An analogy:
You live next door to a very rich, powerful man who's children don't always
behave
as they should. When they misbehave do you take it upon yourself
to punish them?
Not if your brain is working, you don't!
But, when his kids are in trouble, you help them out - - save their lives
- - will he
reward you? You bet!
Is GOD fair, according to your view of fairness? Maybe not - - But,
he is GOD and
You're NOT!
